Cold, hard, eyes
Mouth drawn thin
Shakes his fist
At the slightest whim
Filled with rage
His heart too small
Chokes on ire:
"What's wrong with you all!"

Guardian of my sites
Prayer to St. Michael
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou O Prince of the heavenly host, by the Power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
Veni Creator Spiritus
Come, O Creator Spirit blest
And in our souls take up Thy rest;
Come with Thy grace and heavenly aid,
To fill the hearts which Thou hast made.
Great Paraclete, to thee we cry,
O highest Gift of God most high!
O Fount of life, O Fire of love!
And sweet Anointing from above!
Thou in Thy sevenfold gifts are known;
The finger of God's hand, we own,
The promise of the Father, Thou!
Who dost the tongue with pow'r endow.
Kindle our senses from above,
And make our hearts o'erflow with love;
With patience firm and virtue high,
The weakness of our flesh supply.
Far from us drive the foe we dread,
And grant us Thy true peace instead;
So shall we not with Thee for guide
Turn from the path of life aside.
Oh, may Thy grace on us bestow
The Father and the Son to know!
And Thee through endless time confess'd
Of both th' eternal Spirit blest.
All glory while the ages run
Be to the Father and the Son
Who rose from death; the same to Thee
O Holy Ghost, Eternally!
Amen.

Daily Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Creator Spirit, come and visit the souls that are Yours; fill with heavenly grace the hearts that you created.
You are called by the names of Paraclete, gift of God most high, spring of life, fire, love, and the soul's anointing.
Seven gifts are Yours to give. You are the finger of the Father's right hand. You, the clear promise of the Father, give men's tongues the grace of speech.
Kindle a light in our minds, pour love into our hearts and uphold with Your unfailing strength the frailty of our human nature.
Drive our enemy far from us and give us always the gift of peace; so may it be that, with Your grace ever guiding us in this way, we may avoid all that is sinful.
Grant that through You we may know the Father and the Son, and may we ever believe You to be the Spirit of both the Father and the Son.
Glory be to God the Father, and to the Son, who rose from the dead, and to the Paraclete for ever and ever. Amen

God is love!
ReplyDeleteAnger is a build up of hate.
Each step in anger is ultimately a baby step away from God, as love grows dimmer, and hate grows in clarity, and rage.
A complaining wife lamented over and over to her silent hubby, as he drove the car to the store:
"When we were first courting, you used to sit next to me with your arms around me, cherishing and loving me. You don't do that anymore".
Looking at his wife in the passenger seat, he simply replied:
"Who moved?"
When anger comes, ask the same question of yourself:
"Who moved....toward...or away....fom the one who drives and cherishes".
